Prof. Dr. H. Sofu

Graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul in 2006 and completed residency training in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Baltalimanı Bone and Joint Diseases Hospital in 2012. The residency thesis compared clinical outcomes in patients undergoing arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using autologous quadriceps and hamstring tendon grafts.

Following his residency, he worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Amasya Suluova State Hospital from 2012 to 2013. He then joined Erzincan University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, as an Assistant Professor, serving from 2013 to 2018. He became an Associate Professor in 2018.

From May 1 to July 31, 2016, he completed a research fellowship at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, focusing on aseptic loosening of prosthetic implants.

Between 2018 and 2023, he worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital. He also held an Associate Professor position at Altınbaş University Faculty of Medicine from 2019 to 2023, followed by a Professorship from 2023 to 2025.

He has served as a Professor at Memorial Hospitals Group since 2023 and at Nişantaşı University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, since 2025.

He has held Turkish Board certification in Orthopedics and Traumatology since 2012 and served as an Associate Editor of the official journal of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TOTBİD) from 2022 to 2026.

His native language is Turkish, and he has an advanced level of English.
